Beyond Peer Review: Alternative Knowledge Systems

Beyond Peer Review: Alternative Knowledge Systems Online

Traditional academic scholarship exists side by side with other modes of scholarship and knowledge production. This workshop will explore the critiques of mainstream scholarship as well as how to access and assess alternative knowledge systems. We will examine:

  • The system of peer review, including strengths, flaws, and critiques

  • Alternative modes of producing and categorizing knowledge

  • Techniques for using library and open web databases to find sources outside of traditional academic publishing channels

Zoom information is provided after registering (see button below).

(Please check your junk/spam/clutter folder for the confirmation email- may be best to check your mymail directly in Outlook rather than if you forward to Gmail, etc.)
